My passion is in Art, appreciating and creating it. I have tried many things over the years. The texture, the blending, the depth that can be created with oils is like no other. I began using the medium June 6, 09, when I took a workshop from Mitch Baird(local & nationally recognized artist). Prior to that I painted watercolors for 3 years.
Recognizing the passion for creating was made apparent when I designed and built a go-kart from scratch. It took some time to complete, but the challenge of overcoming a creative problem became energizing to me. After that, I came up with all sorts of ideas, bird feeders-arbors-trellises-mosaics-music stands-picture frames-cigar box purses. Whatever popped into my head that I got passionate about I attempted to create.
That same mentality has been transferred to my painting. I look everywhere for inspiration, colors, shapes, people, architecture, landscapes, and somewhere along the way it hits me like a bolt of lightning... And I have to paint that subject.
Without that passion or excitement we don’t live up to our full potential and the work suffers for it. What’s your passion?
